After covering for a friend with questionable motives, Gracelynn Hardy, a superstitious construction manager from Lompoc, California, winds up dumped on a city bus and must overcome (his/her/their) flawed reasoning in order to find a place to belong and realize that (h/h/t) happy ending was just an illusion.
