After learning that (h/h/t) was/were adopted, Mikayla Arciga, a disorganized political scientist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, winds up passed out at the local recreation center and must overcome (his/her/their) self doubt in order to shake up (h/h/t) current life and overcome a physical obstacle to emerge stronger.
