After running out of hot dogs at the big family bbq, Ashley Beckwith, a timid nurse practitioner  from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, winds up passed out at a bungalow on the beach and must overcome (his/her/their) misgivings about the truth in order to uncover a secret treasure and discover a new world.
